Awesome John Carter cosplay!

I guess there's not a lot of John Carter cosplay in conventions. Many reasons for that, of course the movie is perhaps not popular enough, but also the costumes are very revealing. There are pneumonia dangers and the risk of being ridiculous of you're...

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen

Among my favorite movies is in good place “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen”, by Terry Gilliam, released in 1988. Needless to say I didn’t wait for “John Carter” to be fan of cinematic mega-failures! Terry Gilliam said in an interview after the release...

John Carter, from hate to love!

As a previous entry in the blog revealed it, I am a huge fan of the Martian adventures series written by Edgar Rice Burroughs, who began with “A Princess of Mars” in 1912. As you surely know, this novel has been adapted in 2012 for the big screen under...

First Superhero Purchase!

My first purchase regarding to superheroes (well, rather the one I made my parents buy anyway) was mythical in more than one way: Special Strange 33 saw indeed the conclusion of the Dark Phoenix saga and the death of Phoenix herself! I had read the previous...

"Who Is Sister Love?" will be free in this long week-end that is in France attached to a non-working day, from the 15th to the 18th of August. Apparently some are dubitative about the effectiveness of these free promotions, since many people just accumulate...

And of Course There Was Star Wars!

Or "La Guerre des Etoiles", as it was known in France. It was more "Stars War", which was somewhat prophetic, since the héroes would be opposed to two Death Stars over the three movies. I discovered Star Wars through the toys. I discovered Star Wars through...

Birth of a passion

My passion for superheroes was undoubtedly born towards the end of the Seventies. I already knew some characters like Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four thanks to the cartoons, but those were drowned in the middle of many other cartoons, so they didn’t...

Thorne Industries must move! #SisterLove

There's no such thing as "doing enough research"... The worst case scenario is when you DON'T KNOW you should have done research. I became a victim of that in the first ever version of "Who Is Sister Love?". One of my two known readers (in France, but...

Another reaction from the Burbank screening for Tarzan (2016)... not that positive!

A second attendee, from last night's Burbank screening, gave his thoughts about David Yates' Tarzan. He was unfortunately less positive than the first viewer from Chicago. He thought the first scene was great, but Alexander Skarsgard didn't appeal to...

Supergirl on CBS : super-first look!

As far as I'm concerned, Superman in live-action has been a catastrophy for years now. Between a Superman Returns that transforms its main character into a moping peeping-tom who stalks his former girlfriend, to a Smallville that doesn't want to assume...

The Feng Shui roleplaying game was created in 1997 by Robin D. Laws, and had a very specific goal: recreate in a roleplaying game the mood of Hong Kong's action movies, through no less than for time periods: the China of old, in the year 69, the one of...

A never-seen-before picture of the John Carter shooting courtesy of Andrew Stanton
