The Legend of #Tarzan : after the photos, the poster!

An official poster wasn't late in appearing after the first pictures. After months of dead silence, Warner is on fire! I really like the poster a lot, it features Tarzan and probably one of the Manganis who raised him in the jungle. The man/beast themes seem to be prominently used in the movie, and that's a good thing! The marketing so far is top-notch.

At last, the first official pictures of The Legend of #Tarzan !

Are below are the first two official pictures released by Warner Bros regarding The Legend of Tarzan. Very moody, very serious, very beautiful. For now it's the romantic angle that is pushed in the forefront, with this picture of Jane turning her back from a wounded Tarzan. Why not. While waiting for the meaty stuff, namely a first trailer, which had been rated PG, which will have a duration of 1:57, and which should appear in one to three weeks.

Will the new #Tarzan movie be named The Legend of Tarzan?

http://www.screendaily.com/news/dcm-2016-to-be-biggest-ever-year-for-family-films/5097247.article Near the end of this article are mentioned three movies presented by Warner Bros for 2016, Batman v Superman and Fantastic Beasts, but also "The Legend of Tarzan". It's the first time that this title is mentioned. Is it the real one? So far it hasn't been updated on IMDB.com. Among the latest news, not a lot really since the series of articles wondering if David Yates will be able to fully supervize the production of both of... [Lire la suite]

Tarzan 2016: the negativity begins already?

http://thejohncarterfiles.com/2015/10/uh-oh-here-it-comes-the-tarzan-negativity-narrative-has-begun/ One may beginning to wonder if Hollywwod seriously has something against Edgar Rice Burroughs adaptations. In a Hollywwod Reporter article of October the 14th of 2015, even if not a single frame has been released officially, the journalist Kim Masters shows a quite dark presentation out of the yet-to-come David Yates' Tarzan: not only is the movie unfinished, because David Yates was urgently required to helm Warner Bros' Harry Potter... Tarzan 2016: at least a more substantial feedback from the test screening!

Even if we don't have the whole details, here is what an IMDB user said about the April test screening, for which two short comments had been posted, one positive, one less so. http://normantrayeng.canalblog.com/archives/2015/04/19/31914436.html http://normantrayeng.canalblog.com/archives/2015/04/21/31926108.html This time these are comments from a Black American man aged between 25 and 44 (why is it important? Because the movie features touchy matters about African slavery in Congo during the 19th century), whose father... [Lire la suite]

Another reaction from the Burbank screening for Tarzan (2016)... not that positive!

A second attendee, from last night's Burbank screening, gave his thoughts about David Yates' Tarzan. He was unfortunately less positive than the first viewer from Chicago. He thought the first scene was great, but Alexander Skarsgard didn't appeal to him as Tarzan. He thought Margot Robbie and Christoph Waltz were great though. Stay tuned! https://www.facebook.com/tarzantheuntamed?fref=ts

First reaction to David Yates' Tarzan screening, and it's positive!

Source: Tarzan the Untamed Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/tarzantheuntamed?ref=ts&fref=ts A first reaction to the Tarzan the Untamed screening, from a woman ("A" on Twitter) who attended it... in part, since apparently power went out in the theater during it, and the audience didn't see all of the movie. Obviously, there are no details yet, but it's quite positive nonetheless, she liked the movie and Alexander Skarsgard. No special effects seemed to be done yet (which A found refreshing!). It could indicate a... [Lire la suite]

Test screenings for Tarzan (2016)

While we are at more than one year of the planned release of David Yates' Tarzan in July of 2016, Warner Bros already organized at least two test screenings, this Saturday the 18th at Chicago, and the 20th of April at Burbank. Let's hope for amazingly positive feedback! EDIT: First reaction there, and positive! http://normantrayeng.canalblog.com/archives/2015/04/19/31914436.html  (source: Facebook page Tarzan the Untamed) https://www.facebook.com/tarzantheuntamed?fref=ts

Tarzan 2016 : When History meets a story

Among the most astounding elements of the future David Yates movie is that the plot is based on anything but fantasy. The characters played by Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson really existed!  In 1885, the king of Belgium Léopold II reigns over Congo with an iron hand. While he appears as an enlightened leader eager to bring civilization to Africans, in fact he makes them slaves, thanks to adventurers and unscrupulous henchmen, among themselves Captain Léon Rom (Waltz). The author Joseph Conrad (who spent 3 years in Congo... [Lire la suite]

Djimon Hounsou hired for David Yates' Tarzan!

One day somebody will write a book about Djimon Hounsou. Born in Bénin in 1964, he came to France with his brother at the age of 13. After quitting school he became homeless before meeting accidentally fashion designer Thierry Mugler, who suggests him to get into a model career, with success. He goes to the United States in 1990. Thus follow apparitions in tv shows like Beverly Hills 90210, ER, and Alias, in music videos of Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson, and in movies like: Stargate, Amistad, Deep Rising,... [Lire la suite]
