Supergirl on CBS : super-first look!

As far as I'm concerned, Superman in live-action has been a catastrophy for years now. Between a Superman Returns that transforms its main character into a moping peeping-tom who stalks his former girlfriend, to a Smallville that doesn't want to assume the character, and a Man of Steel which just gives the urge to hang oneself before the adventures of this guy that voluntarily let his adoptive father die like a dog, the least which can be said is that the character was not at all served well in recent times. Tim Burton's Batman is one quarter of a century old this monday, June the 23rd!

We sometimes forget how much of a desert was the superhero movie genre in the 80ies. Superman has been tremendously succesful already thanks to the 1978 and 1980 movies. But in spite of them, since Superman 2, you could begin to see parodic elements due to the direction of Richard Lester. The fall was hard with Superman 3 and 4, without even mentioning Supergirl. The few seriousness that was featured, thanks to Richard Donner and his writer Tom Mankiewitz, had already left the genre as soon as it was introduced.... Terence Hill and Bud Spencer among the most aired on French tv!

I don't know about you, but I grew up with those two. Every summer we went to Normandy on vacations, and there was a small movie theater who featured mostly "old movies". It's here that I saw for the first time Star Wars and Superman 2, and many Terence Hill and Bud Spencer movies. Full of innocent and huge brawls, of humor never on the vulgar side, those movies were and still are awesome entertainements for me.
