An enthusiastic criticism of John Carter by Yannick Dahan in 2012!

How did I miss this video at the time? Here is below a link to a more than enthusiastic criticism from French movie critic  Yannick Dahan (critic, but also co-director and co-writer on the French zombie movie La Horde), with an intervention by Thierry Chèze, recorded on March the 7th and 8th of 2012 during the "Quotidienne du cinéma" ("Movie Daily"), on the defunct tv channel TPS Star: http://youtu.be/tqU59E1_dq0 Even if Yannick lets his enthusiasm getting in the way on certain facts (Burroughs as a... John Carter 2: other studios interested?

According to a "well-informed source" of John Sagar, responsible for the Facebook page "The Fantastic World of Edgar Rice Burroughs", ERB Incorporated would like to know now if Disney can make a final decision regarding the future of John Carter. If they answer a definitive "no" to the sequels, then ERB inc would ask them to relinquish what's left of their option (8 months until March of 2015). It seems like many parties would be interested for making a sequel if Disney let go. All this is of... [Lire la suite]

Or, to be more precise, 12,709 + the 1,960 got from US conventions, thus a current count of 14,669 signatures, out of the 15,000 required at the beginning (only 331 signatures from the goal). There has been a new flux of signatures in the United States, as well as many tweets, following the airing of John Carter on Spike TV. On my blog, still a lot of researches about John Carter 2 ("a lot" meaning to me some twenty visits a day!). ... [Lire la suite]

Cinemablend.com: 6 Reasons Disney Needs To Resurrect The John Carter Franchise!

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/6-Reasons-Disney-Needs-Resurrect-John-Carter-Franchise-43550.html Excellent article which lists the reasons why Disney should ressurect the John Carter franchise! 1) Andrew Stanton and Taylor Kitsch want to make the sequels! It can seem of little importance, but it's not, especially in Andrew Stanton's case of course. He originated everything. He was the one who suggested to Dick Cook, then President of Disney Studios, to get the licence, which Paramount had just let go of. Stanton... [Lire la suite]

John Carter: the French ALLOCINE doesn't like, the viewers love it!

2014, June the 3rd : the French website Allociné give its advices of movies to see on TV. The three not to be missed are: Lethal Weapon 2, Promised Land and Zarafa. The movie NOT to see is John Carter, with this moronic critic:  “Adapted from Edgar Rice Burroughs by WALL-E’s dad, the movie had everything to be 2012’s Avatar. At least on paper, because on screen the feature film (which hurt VERY BADLY Disney’s accounts) offers a run-of-the-mill visual universe, an uninteresting scenario and a completely bland hero. Too bad…”... [Lire la suite]
