The petition for John Carter 2 past 15,000 at last!

It took two years and a half, but the John Carter 2 petition passed yesterday, saturday October the 18th, the symbolic bar of the 15,000 (15,009 exactly today), so 13,049 signatures online and 1 960 gathered from conventions. That doesn't mean we shoudn't keep up with the efforts! Keep on signing the petition, our strength is in our numbers. http://www.change.org/p/alan-horn-chairman-walt-disney-pixar-studios-bring-back-john-carter-take-us-back-to-barsoom

Feng Shui 2 rpg on Kickstarter!

The Feng Shui roleplaying game was created in 1997 by Robin D. Laws, and had a very specific goal: recreate in a roleplaying game the mood of Hong Kong's action movies, through no less than for time periods: the China of old, in the year 69, the one of 1850, contemporary Hong Kong, and China in the 2056 future! To get from one time period to the other, portals which lead in a parallel dimension, the Netherworld, which links the eras. The Netherworld is the lair of the Four Monarchs, four very powerful... The petition for John Carter 2 at 70 signatures from the 15,000!

A Frenchman is the last signer to date, bringing the total online to 12,970 signatures. Thanks to François Adam! Adding the 1,960 signatures gathered from US conventions, we're getting 14,930, so 70 signatures from the 15,000 listed as a maximum on Change.org. I say "listed as a maximum" because apparently it's a goal fixed by the website, and not necessarily the one envisioned by the creator of the petition, Jan Austin ; in truth there's no upper limit! Every signature is therefore welcomed beyond this... [Lire la suite]

Maybe the greatest painting ever created about John Carter, by Joe Jusko

Joe Jusko creates for many years now, with an amazing talent paintings about every kind of characters, and which is great is that he's also a great fan of Edgar Rice Burroughs (born by the way precisely 138 years ago, On september the first of 1875). For Dynamite Entertainment he makes covers, including this one, from Warlord of Mars #5, which is maybe one of the greatest paintings ever created for this universe.

A never-seen-before picture of the John Carter shooting courtesy of Andrew Stanton

A web user on Twitter was recently complaining that he always saw the same John Carter images. Well, it's only one movie after all, so inevitably the same pictures repeat themselves necessarily. So @JohnCarterFilm asked Andrew Stanton if he had never-seen-before pictures to share, and he posted the one below. Here is therefore before your astonished eyes the view Tal Hajus had from his throne over the arena:

So, the Martians, naked or not?

How many times do I read on the internet some comments, both in Molière and Shakespeare’s tongue, like « oh she has too many clothes here, Dejah Thoris », or else « everybody knows the Barsoomians walk completely naked, it’s written in the novels ». This belief leads to many drawings of Dejah Thoris with very few things on, if not completely nude, and some illustrations of Barsoomian soldiers with the full package in plain sight…  How did we get there? The fault to Burroughs, who didn’t describe that... [Lire la suite]

The petition for John Carter 2 at 200 signatures from the 15,000 goal!

Congratulations to Karim Ammour, who's the 14,800th signer of the John Carter 2 petition (12,840 + 1,960 from conventions). We're therefore at 200 signatures from the final goal! Keep on with the effort! http://www.change.org/p/alan-horn-chairman-walt-disney-pixar-studios-bring-back-john-carter-take-us-back-to-barsoom It seems that many parties currently give a thought about the sequel, if John Sagar on Facebook is well informed. Nothing official as of now, but it's good to know that John Carter... Babylon 5: the original plan

Many fans wonder what would have Babylon 5 looked like if Joseph Michael Strazynski had followed his original plan. On the Facebook page below, "Babylon 5: Some behind the scenes stuff", are the links to the most complete summary I've read so far: https://www.facebook.com/B5Scrolls/posts/697100957044967:0 "SEASON 1: * Pretty much exactly the same as the version of Season 1 we saw, though there’s no mention of Bester or Psicops. SEASON 2:* Commander Sinclair is still in charge of the station* His Fiance, Catherine Sakai, continues... [Lire la suite]
