Supergirl on CBS : super-first look!

As far as I'm concerned, Superman in live-action has been a catastrophy for years now. Between a Superman Returns that transforms its main character into a moping peeping-tom who stalks his former girlfriend, to a Smallville that doesn't want to assume the character, and a Man of Steel which just gives the urge to hang oneself before the adventures of this guy that voluntarily let his adoptive father die like a dog, the least which can be said is that the character was not at all served well in recent times.

The saving grace will perhaps come from television, and from his cousin Supergirl. CBS released a 6-minutes condensed version of the pilot episode of Supergirl on the net. What can be said other than they nailed it! Even if the pilot and the series that will follow (aired from November on) should ultimately disappoint, those 6 minutes will still be the best that has been done for a character related to Superman since at least 10 years. It's fresh, enthusiastic, with witty dialog, and action scenes that really compare to what we see in the movies, a perfect costume in relation to the comic book one. What else could you ask for?

Oh yeah, you have a glimpse of her adoptive parents at 0:27. They're none other than Helen Slater (Supergirl in the movie) and Dean Cain (Superman in Lois & Clark!).
