Rarely an illustration has succeeded in capturing in such manner the character of Tarzan as described in the novels of Edgar Rice Burroughs: his noble beauty, as well as his ape nature (the twisted left hand), you can also see the hunting knife of his father, the medallion of his mother, as well as the rope which is the essential weapon he never leaves behind, and which is never represented in any adaptations.
